The Lake Travis Toastmasters club meets the first and third Mondays of each month from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at the Lakeway Activity Center at 105 Cross Creek, Lakeway. Our members of invite you to attend one of our toastmaster’s meetings any time. Drop in to meet us and get a feel for what the club is all about. You'll be glad you did!

Benefits of joining our club include:

  • Learn to communicate more effectively
  • Become a better listener.
  • Improve your presentation skills
  • Increase your leadership potential
  • Become more successful in your career
  • Build your ability to motivate and persuade
  • Reach your professional and personal goals
  • Increase your self-confidence.

The meetings are organized so that every member will have a chance to speak, should they want to. You schedule your own speaking assignments a few weeks in advance, so you’ll have plenty of time to prepare.

Speaking assignments are varied, with the first one designated as an “ice breaker” – a description of yourself and your life that lasts between five and seven minutes. You’ll be assigned a mentor to help you settle in and get through your first speaking roles. As you grow in confidence, your assignments will grow with you.

Importantly, whenever you stand up and speak, you receive encouraging, helpful feedback on how it went and how you can improve next time.

Whether you work in a corporate environment or from home, whether you are a student or retiree, Toastmasters is the most efficient, enjoyable and affordable way of gaining communication and leadership skills.

If you wish to become a member, please talk to our Vice President of Membership, Joel Paprocki, or any of our other club officers to get an applicaton form. The cost is $31 to join, followed by a $39 semi-annual fee. New members are pro-rated at $6.50 per month based on when they join.

We hope this information is useful to you and helps you make a decision that will change your life forever. Please feel free to come and see us with no obligation to join until you are ready. Hope to see you at our next meeting.

Sincerely,

Kay McManus

President
